25+ bands, 3 days, 2 stages of music

This weekend we have another foot of snow coming. This is what we get in New England, snow and more snow. While the white stuff is falling on your driveway make sure you think of this… Camp and Jam Five is coming soon!!!!!! The most wonderful sign of spring; the annual announcement of who will be playing Camp and Jam, who will be going and if Travis will be allowed a hand drum after midnight. It is something that we all await.

The folks at Go Local Music who put on Camp and Jam like to tease us. Not in a “my dad can’t beat up your dad” kinda way but teasing us with little tastes of who are playing this year’s festival. They have been releasing the band names little by little every few days. This year has a big change. Most years they have one day of music. This year, they have three days. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. What does this mean for you? It means more music, more friends, more chances to meet new friends, more bands and more hangovers. The one downfall to the three days of music is; who has to babysit the Crunchy Western Boys that entire time. I sure as heck am not. But back to the music, with three days, they will be announcing over 25 bands names that will be playing!

This year the Camp and Jam will be held in Davisville and not at the Palmer Grove site that we have grown to know and love. How does the site change impact you? Well, first, MORE PARKING. You will not have to fight a small carnival lion to get a close parking spot. You will also have more camping area available. You can camp next to your car if you wish! Another big change- with the added room comes: Two stages. That is right folks, there will be two separate stages to reduce setup and tear down time between acts. This will allow for nonstop music packing in your favorite local music acts. You can see a site map up above, or a larger one down at the bottom of this article.

Along with those local acts, this year brings one more exciting announcement- you may just pee yourself when I tell you. The guys at Go Local told me, but they said I couldn’t tell you yet. Let me guarantee you though… big big big news.. and I am not talking Big like that 80’s tom hanks movie. I’m talking Ron Jeremy big. As soon as I get the ok, I will let ya know the big news. Ok, maybe not that big, but still, it will bepPretty cool news.

Things that are not changing: They will still have their famous "bottomless" beer, camping, midnight movie, vendors, community art project, and disc golf.

Tickets go on sale on or around March 4th 2013.Keep your eyes glued to go local’s Facebook page and our site for more details regarding the ticket sales. We hope you can make it to this year’s festival because it promises to be the best yet. Below you can find the bands that have been announced so far. More to come!!!!
