Beechwood- Live review

Beechwood- Live review

How is it that I have not reviewed this band yet? I have seen them more than I have seen a lot of the local acts around town. Always present at Go Local Camp N Jam and always around the local music scene. Since I have not reviewed them, you might think I don’t care for the music…. Nothing could be further from fact.I saw them this past weekend at the 17th Annual Homebrewers Festival.

Beechwood is one of those rare acts. An act that plays tight and amazing tunes yet makes it look effortless. Anyone could do what they do, Right? I mean, you hear the band perform and you want to get right up there with them on stage. You want to join their party. You want to be there adding your parts to this amazing performance. But not all bands can do what they do. They are unique. The bass, vocals and guitars balance with each other to form a perfect blend of love, hate, joy and tension. Rich harmonies and technical guitar playing that doesn’t immediately reveal the intricate layers of sound because they are played so well.

The best part of any Beechwood set? When it ends- Ha ha- a joke but the truth. The band always continues playing after every festival show around the fire. Taking requests and reminding you that life is always simpler and more fun when you are sitting around a campfire with friends singing songs. Do yourself a favor- Get to a Beechwood show- introduce yourself to the band- and join them around the fire.
