Buddha's Band- Live Review

Buddha's Band- Live Review

Buddha’s Band took to the stage at True Brew in Concord this past Saturday night- Actually- they didn’t take to the stage, they took to the corner of floor space next to the front door-not on a stage- but I digress. Buddha’s Band consists of some of the best musicians in the local music scene. Chris Noyes on bass, Matt Jensen on guitar and Ricky Rocket on drums…. I mean George Lalliotis. The band was hot and on fire all night, so I tossed a beer on Chris to put out the flames- it was not appreciated.

Buddha’s Band plays a mix of funk, R&B and umm… good dance stuff. The talent of this band cannot be overstated. Or well, I guess I could overstate their talent- Like, I could say George’s drum playing can make the blind see, the hungry fed and the ugly pretty.. ok ok… only lots of beer can accomplish that last one. AND IT WORKED- I glanced up after a couple beers and Chris Noyes was no longer an ugly dude- He had changed into a very pretty lady. It was amazing! Then I realized that Rachel Vogelzang had joined them on stage to sing a tune; I was looking at Rachel and not Chris. The band and Rachel did great and perform like they had played the tune 1000 times.(sorry Chris, you are still ugly- have you tried paper bags?)

My suggestion- get out and see this band. They don’t have a facebook page, or a web page, or a Dial a song phone line but… if you see or hear about them playing someplace- go see them- They are fun, talented… and not everyone in the band is so ugly that is makes you vomit

Editors note: We do not really think Chris is ugly- We think he is a great guy, a friend and we know he can take the fun little teasing that we are giving him.
